Spencer In Moscow

Betsy and I are part of Spencer Tunick's exhibit in Moscow. It's fun to be art! ;-)
Betsy and I are the photo 5th from the left on the bottom(include the one obscured by the woman) next to the woman standing on the arched back of the man. That was taken in Mexico. Ours was in Buffalo back in 2004. I recognise several of the images, though not all.

Betsy and I saw "Where The Wild Things Are" . Not too impressed. Seemed a bit dark for young kids, and a little slow moving at times.

Ashtabula Covered Bridge Festival

Well, I have the computer recovered from whatever it's problem was. Now restoring files. Finished book I was reading, Storm Cycle, by Iris and Roy Johanson. Action adventure. Fast read. Some interesting ideas.
This weekend is the Ashtabula Covered Bridge Festival, and we hope to see at least the one bridge near Betsy's camp, if not more of the festival. The above photo was taken from Windsor Mills bridge 3 years ago.

Go Now For Later

If Betsy and I had followed that advice from both of our mothers we might have been able to be in the same room with author Neil Gaiman yesterday, rather than sitting in the overflow room. See Neil's blog also. We left the Unity Church about 12:20 PM by the time we reached the library we both needed the facilities. But the library was closed. And the doors to the auditorium section was not open yet, and there was a huge line. We had known that the doors were to open at 1:00 PM but we couldn't stand and wait. My legs won't take much standing anyway. So off to McDonald's nearby for use of facilities and to get a bite of lunch. Then back to the library, where we arrived about 1:25 or so, only to find we were stuck in the overflow room and had to be satisfied to view everything on a large screen TV. As he states in his blog Neil did come in and say hello to us. And I agree that the library did not seem to expect so many people. We did not stay for the book signing, as again the line was huge. Still according to his blog some folks were turned away, so I don't feel so bad.

Compouter is acting wonky so I may be offline a bit. We'll see.

Spencer in France and Free Theater Night

Well this morning I woke up later than usual but in time to come downstairs and be online at 12:01 for the free theater tickets. Found that "Fiddler On The Roof " was one offered. But the site was not working properly and by 12:20 or so I had tried to call the theater collective with no luck: called Beck Center and was told they couldn't make the reservations. So I took a break for breakfast and got back online at 1:20 only to find the "Fiddler" tickets gone! Drat I should have stayed on the entire time. I did get tickets to "Inherit The Wind" which should be good. And free is free, right?

Spencer's installation for Greenpeace in France took place today. Here's a press photo:

Betsy A Winner, 50th Anniversary of Twilight Zone and Banned Books Week

On Tuesday 29 Sep I picked up a book at the library "Twilight Zone: 19 Original Stories On The 50th Anniversary." I didn't realize today, 2 Oct is the 50th Anniversary!

Here are a couple more sites Official 50th Anniversary Site

It is also the last of Banned Book Week, so read something banned!

I finally got all my 2008 photos up on Flickr. Now to start on my 2009 backlog.

On Facebook I told of Betsy being a winner. She won 1st Prize in her Toastmaster's Humorous Speech Contest on Wednesday and 3rd place in Table Topics. Now she competes in the next level. So I have a trophy wife!
