Car "Stolen"- This Happend To My Father In the Late 1950's

My dad had his car, a Ford Fairlane, "stolen" this same way.
A man from out of town was picking up a car belonging to his brother-in-law, saw my dad's car on a street near where the right car was parked; he unlocked the car, started it up, picked up his wife at their hotel and bought gas. my dad had reported the car stolen by then. The police stopped the man and that's when the story came out.
